The Gold Coast SUNS have named their 26-player squad to take on Collingwood this Sunday afternoon at the MCG.

365 days since the two sides last met, SUNS fans will have fond memories of when the team travelled to take on the Pies at the G’ with the SUNS taking away the four points, 24-point victors that day.

Jack Lukosius and Jy Farrar were both in the team last time and have been named as part of Stuart Dew’s squad to return from injury/illness, alongside livewire small forward Malcolm Rosas Jnr.

Fresh off signing a two-year contract extension with the club earlier today, Ben Ainsworth will be looking to continue his strong run of form as he lines up at half-forward.

As announced in the Qscan Injury update earlier this week, half back Wil Powell won’t be available for selection this week after sustaining a hamstring injury in the Round 6 loss to Brisbane.

Josh Corbett will also miss the fixture with hip complaint.

Rory Atkins, Chris Burgess, Alex Davies, Brayden Fiorini, Darcy Macpherson, Oleg Markov, Rosas Jnr and Jeremy Sharp have all been named as part of an extended bench.

The final team is set to be announced at 5pm on Friday afternoon before the team travels to the MCG for the first time in 2022.

The match against Pies gets underway at 1:10pm AEST on Sunday afternoon and will be broadcast on the Seven Network (check your local guide), Fox Footy and Kayo.
