David Swallow was unanimously judged the best player on the ground in Sunday’s match against the Adelaide Crows.
Swallow collected the maximum ten votes in the AFL Coaches Association awards, five votes respectively from Guy McKenna and Brenton Sanderson’s coaching panels
Swallow gathered 37 and kicked 2 two goals in a career best performance.
Adelaide forward Tex Walker received four votes from both coaches, picking up a total of eight votes, while ball winner Dion Prestia was the other SUNS player to collect votes from the coaches. Prestia picked up five votes after racking up 29 touches, and two goals.
Adelaide’s Brodie Smith (three), Rory Sloane (two) and Daniel Talia (two) also received votes.
SUNS skipper Gary Ablett still sits atop of the AFLCA Leaderboard with 55 votes, three votes clear of Swan Josh Kennedy (52) and Magpie Scott Pendlebury (48).
Ablett hasn’t claimed the coaches award since 2009, when he picked up the award for a third consecutive time.
