The AFL is pleased to confirm kids and club members will have FREE access to the 2024 AAMI Community Series, as the league extends its partnership with AAMI for the pre-season event for a further two years.

Club and AFL Members with Premiership Season entry entitlements will have free access to matches by scanning in with their membership to the venue on match day.

The Gold Coast SUNS face the GWS Giants in its sole AAMI Community Series Match at Canberra’s Manuka Oval on Thursday, February 29, 7.10pm first bounce local time.

Tickets for the AAMI Community Series will go on sale at 10am for club members and 2pm (venue local time) for the general public on Tuesday, February 6.

SUNS Members can scan their membership at Manuka Oval on match day to access free entry, subject to capacity. Members can guarantee their entry by registering for a general admission ticket or upgrading to a reserved seat via Ticketek using their 2024 membership barcode, subject to availability.

General admission tickets for adults will be $20, while kids aged 14 and under will be free. Reserved seating tickets for adults will be $30 and $10 for children at those venues with applicable seating.

While access for kids under 14 is free, they must redeem a ticket in advance of the match. Any junior without a pre-purchased ticket will not be permitted access to the match.

AFL Executive General Manager Customer and Commercial Kylie Rogers welcomed the return of the AAMI Community Series.

“AAMI has been our premier partner of the annual Community Series since 2021, and we’re proud to welcome the return of the pre-season competition to venues across the country," Ms Rogers said. 

“The 2024 AAMI Community Series is a great opportunity for fans to get their first look at their teams for the season. I am looking forward to seeing thousands of fans in attendance in what will be a great day out for the whole family."

Suncorp Executive General Manager, Brand and Customer Experience, Mim Haysomsaid AAMI was thrilled to be working in partnership with the AFL to revitalise the pre-season competition in 2024. 

“The AAMI Community Series is a fantastic opportunity for footy fans to see their favourite players and teams up close and bring the excitement of live footy to supporters in local and regional communities across Australia," Ms Haysom said. 

“The AAMI Community Series is designed to provide greater access to top-class football games to AFL fans and we are proud to be part of such a great community event.”

The SUNS will also take on the Brisbane Lions in a pre-season match simulation at Brighton Homes Arena on February 22. All match simulation training sessions and the AAMI Community Series will be broadcast live on Fox Footy, available on Kayo Sports and Foxtel.

AFL Community Series Matches will take on the following format:

  • Four quarters of 20 mins plus time on (as per AFL Premiership Season)
  • Squad of 30 players, eight interchange and four Emergencies.  Minimum of four players on the Interchange Bench during the match at any time.
  • No interchange Cap.
  • Full panel of umpires appointed by the AFL
