Records tumbled as Gold Coast kicked its highest ever score in the AFL, booting 26.8 (164) to the Geelong’s 15.8 (98) to also notch the highest score at TIO Stadium and biggest win in club history over the Cats (64 points).
Jack Lukosius started the night with a bang, booting three first-quarter goals and finishing with five on the night alongside 12 score involvements and a game-high five goal assists.
The midfield brigade was once again dominant, led by reigning Club Champion Noah Anderson who amassed a career-high 41 disposals and a whopping 15 score involvements (game-high), with two goals to top it off.
Just as good was inside bull Matt Rowell who also had a career night with 35 disposals (13 contested), eight clearances and a game-high 10 tackles.
After building into the match, Bailey Humphrey kicked a career-high five goals to go with 16 disposals and five tackles.
Touk Miller was reliable and was able to find plenty of the football as he finished with 32 disposals, six tackles and seven clearances.
Sam Flanders (31 disposals) and Alex Sexton (27) were the distributors off half-back and were key in slingshotting the SUNS into attack.
Up forward Sam Day (three goals, seven score involvements) and Ben Long (two goals, nine score involvements) contributed on the scoreboard, while also setting teammates up.
Ned Moyle showed he was up to AFL level and won the ruck battle with 42 hitouts alongside 16 disposals and six clearances.
