The Gold Coast SUNS will open its 2024 AFLW campaign on home soil with a Round 1 clash against St Kilda at People First Stadium.

The AFL today released the fixture for the upcoming AFLW season, with clubs for the first time to play an 11-game NAB AFLW home and away season. Each club will play an additional game on either a Tuesday or Wednesday as ‘Mid-Week Footy’ is introduced during a four-week block across weeks four to seven in the draw.

The August 31 clash against the Saints will be the first AFLW opening round fixture to be played at People First Stadium since 2021 and is one of four home matches Gold Coast locals can circle in the calendars.

The SUNS will also welcome Victorian powerhouses Geelong and Essendon in Rounds 4 and 6 as well as an enticing Indigenous Round clash with Port Adelaide in the home & away season’s penultimate week.

Cameron Joyce’s team will once again bring AFLW football to Mackay in 2024 with the SUNS to host Carlton at Great Barrier Reef Arena in Round 2.

On the road, a trip to Canberra to face the Giants awaits in Round 3, followed by back-to-back away matches in Victoria against Collingwood on AFL Grand Final Eve at the Swinburne Centre and the mid-week match against Hawthorn at Kinetic Stadium on Wednesday, October 2.

The 2024 AFLW QClash will take place in Pride Round at Brighton Homes Arena on Saturday, October 12.

The SUNS also travel to Henson Park in a replay of last year’s Elimination Final against Sydney in Round 8 and then round out the home & away season at Arden Street against North Melbourne in Round 10. Date & start time for the Round 10 match will be confirmed later in the season.

All 2024 NAB AFLW matches will be broadcast live across the Seven Network, FOX FOOTY & Kayo.

Ticketing details for GC SUNS home matches will be communicated at a later date. You can secure your seat at all SUNS home matches with AFLW memberships on sale now from just $50.
