Rising Victorian talent Keely Fullerton will make her AFLW debut this Friday at the Swinburne Centre when the Gold Coast SUNS take on Collingwood.
In what’s a pivotal encounter for both sides, the 19-year-old will don the SUNS guernsey for the first time since joining the club with Pick 36 in the 2023 AFLW Draft.
A dynamic left-footer and most commonly seen on a wing, Fullerton is known for her speed, endurance, and goal-scoring capabilities. She kicked nine goals in 12 games for the Bendigo Pioneers in the 2023 Coates Talent League before, also representing Vic Country at the 2023 U18 Girls Championships.
SUNS AFLW Head Coach Cameron Joyce praised Fullerton's dedication to earning her AFLW debut.
"Keely has impressed us right throughout pre-season, in training and scrimmages in recent weeks and we're excited to see her earn this opportunity to make her debut,” Joyce said.
“She’s a great young talent who adds plenty of versatility to our side and I’m sure there’ll be plenty of friends and family making the trip down from Bendigo to cheer her on on Friday.”
The SUNS will confirm its final side for Friday’s clash on Thursday evening. First bounce is at 12:05pm at the Swinburne Centre.
