SUNS coaches Rhyce Shaw and Nick Malceski have added another honour to their lengthy playing resumes, inducted into the Sydney Swans Hall of Fame on Thursday night.

Shaw, current AFLW Head Coach, and Malceski, currently a Development Coach at the club, were both members of a golden era at the Swans, playing key roles in the 2012 premiership side.

Shaw joined the Swans from Collingwood at the end of 2008 and became a key figure in Sydney’s defensive unit, playing 143 games in red and white. A hard-running and resilient player, Shaw thrived under coach Paul Roos and was instrumental in the 2012 Premiership.

Since joining the SUNS in 2021, Shaw has held positions across the club’s AFL and Academy programs, most recently becoming the first person to take on Head Coach roles at both the AFL and AFLW levels.

After being drafted to the Swans in 2002, Malceski played 176 games and kicked 67 goals for the Swan, no more notable than the sealing goal with 40 seconds remaining in the 2012 Grand Final. He played 34 games across two seasons for the SUNS before transitioning into coaching with the StreetSmarts SUNS Academy and SUNS NEAFL side, returning to the club for a second stint in 2023.
