SUNS captain Noah Anderson has rocketed to the outright in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award following a perfect 10 coaches votes from Saturday’s win over the Tigers.
Anderson was simply sublime in the record rout, recording 38 disposals, 12 score involvement, nine inside 50s, eight clearances and the praise of both Damien Hardwick and Adam Yze.
The result takes the SUNS skipper to 93 votes from 19 matches, leading Nick Daicos (87) with fellow SUNS midfielder Matt Rowell remarkably in a three-way tie for third position on 78 votes.
Rowell himself secured eight votes from Saturday’s win, as did a further five SUNS. Sam Collins, Mac Andrew and John Noble all polled three apiece, Brayden Fiorini picked up a pair and Touk Miller too earned a single vote in his return to action.
