The Gold Coast SUNS are pleased to announce versatile duo Jy Farrar and Asher Eastham have both penned contract extensions with the club.

The pair have signed one-year extensions to remain on the Gold Coast until the end of the 2026 AFL season.

Gold Coast SUNS General Manager of Player Talent and Strategy Craig Cameron says both players strengthen the club’s list.

“Jy has played several roles throughout his time at our club at both ends of the field, and earned an opportunity to play in our first final. We’re also looking forward to seeing Asher continue to develop following his first season on our list,” Cameron said.

“Both players will continue to play important roles for our club in 2026.”

Farrar joined the SUNS in the with Pick 60 in the 2019 Draft and has since played 42 AFL games. Having previously played the majority of his career in defence, he played eight AFL games in 2025 in the SUNS forward line, including both of the club’s inaugural AFL finals.

Eastham became a SUN during the 2024 Rookie Draft, taken with Pick 17. The 19-year-old played 18 VFL games in 2025 and finished equal seventh in the club’s VFL Player of the Year count.

Both players will return to the Austworld Centre for pre-season training in November.
