The Gold Coast SUNS have committed to selecting midfielder Ben Jepson in next month’s AFL Rookie Draft after he was delisted by the club today.

Jepson joined the SUNS as a supplemental selection period (SSP) selection ahead of the 2025 season following impressive VFL campaigns for both Southport and Coburg.

He made his AFL debut against the Adelaide Crows in Round 19 and also played 16 VFL games in 2025, finishing second in the SUNS VFL best and fairest.

“We have committed to selecting Ben in the upcoming rookie draft. After earning a spot on our list and making his AFL debut in 2025, we believe he will continue to be a valuable member of our squad,” GC SUNS General Manager of Football Craig Cameron said.

Midfielder Sam Clohesy has also been elevated to the senior list ahead of the 2026 season. Clohesy has played 34 games over the past two seasons for the SUNS.

The Telstra AFL Draft will be held across two nights Wednesday, November 19 and Thursday, November 20 with the Rookie Draft to follow on Friday, November 21.
