Two of the Gold Coast SUNS' young guns have been named in the 2025 AFL Players’ Association’s 22Under22 Squad.
Charlie Rowbottom and Havana Harris feature in the extended 44-player squad and are in contention to be selected in the final fan-voted 22-player team, which recognises the AFLW's best players aged 22 years and under.
Rowbottom has reigned as one of the league’s finest midfielders since her debut in 2022 and will be eyeing her fifth and final selection in the side. In her most recent years, the 22-year-old earned captain (2023) and vice-captain honours (2024) and a 2025 appearance could see her become the first AFLW player to feature five times. In the AFL, only one player has earned this AFLPA accolade - Western Bulldogs captain Marcus Bontempelli.
In her maiden AFLW season, Harris has continually showcased her talents across both the midfield and forward line. The Round 3 NAB Rising Star nominee currently leads the SUNS goal kicking tally for the season and has impressed with multiple Goal of the Year contenders, to earn her first nomination in the 22Under22 forwards list.
