Charlie Rowbottom has taken out the esteemed Player’s Player Award at Saturday’s 2025 Gold Coast SUNS AFLW Club Champion event.

The award is voted on by all listed SUNS AFLW players following each match and recognises the player who consistently and selflessly stepped up in their role, capitalising on their individual moments and strengths to elevate the team’s performance.

The SUNS leader worked relentlessly and consistently played her role both on and off the field, proving to be an influential force for the young and developing side.

The 2024 Club Champion also ranked among the league’s elite, dominating the average contested possession count (15.5) for the third consecutive season, in addition to finishing fourth in the average disposal count (27.6).

Earlier this month, the 22-year-old earned her fifth feature in the 2025 AFL Players’ Association’s 22Under22 extended squad and is in contention to be the first AFLW player to earn five selections.

Previous recipients include Daisy D’Arcy (2024, 2022, 2021), Maddy Brancatisano (2023), Georgia Clayden (2022) and Jamie Stanton (2020).Get Outlook for Mac
