A pair of StreetSmarts SUNS Academy graduates will unfortunately face delayed starts to their SUNS careers.

2025 draftee Beau Addinsall will be sidelined for the opening rounds of the 2026 season after injuring his hamstring at training, as will fellow Academy graduate Jai Murray as he continues to recover from a leg injury.

“Scans have confirmed that Beau has unfortunately suffered a high-grade hamstring injury during training last week. He has begun a rehabilitation plan and will be unavailable for selection throughout the early stages of the season,” GC SUNS Head Physiotherapist Andrew Weller said.

”Jai resumed running this week after being managed throughout pre-season with a femoral stress reaction. He will now work through a gradual re-loading program and also be unavailable early in the season."

Key defender Charlie Ballard is progressing well in his recovery from a torn ACL suffered early in the 2025 season, with an eye on being available for selection early in the AFL season.

“Charlie is continuing to tick boxes in his rehabilitation timeline. He is now training fully and is expected to be available for selection in the early in the season,” Weller said.

Jy Farrar (knee) and Caleb Lewis (back) will be unavailable in the short and medium term respectively, while Elliott Himmelberg continues to progress in his recovery from an ACL injury suffered in 2025.
