Bodhi Uwland’s superb 2026 campaign has earned the acknowledgment of his teammates, earning his first David Swallow Award.

The David Swallow Award, previously known as Players’ Player, was named in 2024 in honour of the club legend whose 249 matches remains the club’s games record.

The award, which is held in high esteem among the playing group, is voted on by every SUNS AFL listed player and recognises the player who has displayed the most selfless and inspirational acts throughout the year.

All players submit a 3-2-1 vote at the end of each month, which gets tallied to determine the winner.

Uwland had a career-best season in defence and was one of six SUNS players to play all 23 matches.

He also becomes the first graduate of the StreetSmarts SUNS Academy to win the award.
