The Gold Coast SUNS have decided not to select Jack Martin with the first selection in the 2019 pre-season draft.

General Manager List and Strategy - Craig Cameron said the club had assessed all options available and made the best decision for the football club.

“We made a decision that if the players we wanted to select in this year’s draft were available then we wouldn’t have a list spot available to secure Jack in the preseason draft,” Cameron said.

“We explored all the options available to us however in the end we made the decision to let Jack go in the best interests of the football club.

“Over the past 12 months an increasing majority of our playing group have bought into our new direction and want to be part of what we’re trying to build. For that to succeed we must harness the people that want to play their role in delivering on that.”

Cameron wished Martin all the best for his future and thanked him for his contribution to the club over the past seven years.

“Jack has been with the club for seven years and made a great contribution both on and off the field. He is craving a change of scenery and on behalf of the club, we wish him and his partner Britt well and all the best in the future,” said Cameron.
