Dynamic SUNS forward Kalinda Howarth has polled a perfect 10 AFLW Coaches’ votes from the Round 6 victory over West Coast.

Howarth was unanimously voted best on ground after her four-goal effort to seal the club’s second win of the 2020 AFLW season.

She finished the match also with 11 disposals and three tackles to her name and was joined in the votes by four other SUNS.

Leah Kaslar received four votes for her efforts in defence, the first time she has played in that position this year after starting the season as a forward.

Jade Pregelj and Kate Surman both received three votes for their performances, with Surman battling through the second half with a broken nose.

Ellie Hampson polled two votes for her work in defence, another new role for her as a first-year player.

For West Coast, Dana Hooker received the most votes with five, followed by Parris Laurie (two) and Belinda Smith (one).

The AFL Coaches Association AFLW Champion Player of the Year is an award voted by the AFLW senior coaches on a 5,4,3,2,1 basis after each game, acknowledging outstanding effort to an individual player in a season.
