Christmas came early for players of the Gold Coast SUNS today when they visited Movie World to launch the White Christmas Charity event being held on Friday 3 December.

Under the cover of snow, players Michael Rischitelli, Campbell Brown, Marc Lock, Maverick Weller and Zac Smith posed alongside Santa and some of their favourite cartoon characters to promote the event benefitting 3000 people in need on the Gold Coast this Christmas.

To be held at Movie World, the White Christmas Charity event will help bring a smile to the faces of those impacted by Homeless Youth on the Gold Coast, Domestic Violence on the Gold Coast and those in need in the Northern Growth Corridor of the Gold Coast.

The Gold Coast SUNS strongly support charities under these three areas which are three of the biggest challenges facing the local Gold Coast area. Events such as the White Christmas Charity event give the Gold Coast SUNS the chance to raise funds and awareness and generate support.

Movie World general manager Bob White was on hand to officially launch the event, something he said he was proud the theme park could be involved with.

Young Gold Coast SUNS’ player Marc Lock has grown up on the Gold Coast and said his team mates are looking forward to attending and supporting the night.

He said being part of an evening like the White Christmas Charity event is a great way to help give something back to the Gold Coast Community that has been so supportive of his team since it has started up.

The event will be held in conjunction with Warner Brothers Movie World, the Gold Coast Bulletin and the Gold Coast Community Fund who have come together as one to put on the event which will include;

• A free night out at Movie World including dinner.
• A chance to see the Gold Coast SUNS players up close and get autographs.
• Transport to and from the event and a photo with Santa.
• A street parade with all of the Movie World characters that will feature the Gold Coast SUNS players and a chance to meet players and get autographs.
• One million fairy lights down Main Street and 20 Snow machines to create a Christmas spectacular.
