The Gold Coast SUNS were undone by a dominant GWS Giants outfit at Metricon Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

After kicking out to an early lead, the Giants held the SUNS off for the remainder of the match to win 9.7 (61) to 4.11 (35).

The SUNS have been one of the feel-good stories this season and built improvement on high pressure and quick ball movement.

Apart from a few familiar faces leading the way on Sunday afternoon, there was just too many passengers.

The midfielders were the main culprits with co-captain David Swallow unusually quiet, as was vice-captain Touk Miller and dynamic Lachie Weller.

A team that prides itself on pressure was well down, affecting just 13 tackles in the first half and 38 for the day and losing the contested possession count by 20.

Fullback Sam Collins showed grit in defence, while co-captain Jarrod Witts battled hard all day.

In his 50th AFL match, Ben Ainsworth was also lively while Jack Bowes was solid down back.
