The SUNS have been outclassed by a rampant Adelaide outfit, going down by 70 points in the Round 6 AFLW clash at Norwood Oval.

Adelaide kicked its highest AFLW score on its way to the 13.7 (85) to 2.3 (15) win.

The Suns' pressure and clearance work was admirable early but the Crows' defence wall proved impenetrable.

Gold Coast lifted early in the second and got on the board through Leah Kaslar before the Crows rifled the next five goals to put the contest beyond reach.

In her first game of the 2021 season, SUNS Academy product Tori Groves-Little was simply electric any time the ball was in her area, and got better as the game wore on.

She generated plenty of offensive drive for the SUNS and finished with 14 disposals and five tackles in the dazzling display.

Alison Drennan had her best game of the season in the midfield, winning an impressive 29 disposals while bringing her trademark pressure with seven tackles.

Kate Surman and Lauren Ahrens also battled hard all day for the SUNS.

Danielle Ponter bagged four goals for the Crows, with superstar Erin Phillps and skipper Chelsea Randall bagging two apiece.

The SUNS will be sweating on the fitness of  reigning best-and-fairest winner Jamie Stanton, who was stretchered off the arena five minutes into the contest after damaging her left ankle while tackling Anne Hatchard.
