With Sam Day and Connor Budarick both unavailable through injury, there will be two forced changes for the Gold Coast match committee ahead of a matchup against the Adelaide Crows on Friday.

Utility Nick Holman came on to replace Day for the second half of the Round 2 match and will be in calculations for the 22 this week if the coaches opt to go with a smaller forward line.

Chris Burgess has been a riser through the pre-season and has the flexibility to play at either end of the ground, as well as through the ruck. He’s been an emergency for the first two rounds and would be the best like-for-like option for Day.

Meanwhile Josh Corbett has impressed in the VFL practice match on the weekend with three goals and is a proven performer at AFL level in the forward line.

In defence, Jarrod Harbrow could be the best option to replace Budarick. Harbrow can play the same role and his experience will be extremely valuable in the defensive half.

If the coaches decide to replace Budarick with more youth, Jez McLennan could get the opportunity to make his AFL debut in his hometown of Adelaide.

If the match committee decide to shuffle players around, Rory Atkins and Brayden Fiorini would be in the conversation to come in to the side as well.

Who do you think is in the mix?
