Gold Coast key forward Tara Bohanna has won the 2022 Most Professional award, presented by KKTC at the SUNS’ AFLW Club Champion.

The Most Professional award is voted on by the club’s AFLW staff on a 3, 2, 1 basis and encompasses all aspects of the program including football, education, operations, high performance, medical and media.

In her first year at the club and in the AFLW system, Bohanna was consistent in her desire to get the most out of herself as an athlete.

Her diligent work off the field allowed her to maximise her performance on gameday, culminating in a maiden All Australian squad nomination in 2022.

The 27-year-old played all 10 games for the club this season, booting 13 goals to finish equal-fifth in the league’s overall goalkicking.

She had two games where she kicked three goals – against West Coast in Round 2 and St Kilda in Round 8.

Bohanna also had two goals and five scoring shots in the Round 4 win over Richmond, along with eight marks.

Bohanna claims this year’s Most Professional award from Bess Keaney who also won the honour in her debut season in 2021.
