The Gold Coast SUNS have positive news to come out of this week’s Qscan Injury Update.

Key defender Mac Andrew has escaped serious injury after being subbed out of the match against Geelong with a lower leg concern.

Gold Coast SUNS Head Physiotherapist Lindsay Bull said he expected Andrew to train in full this week.

“Mac had a heavy collision in the second quarter of our match and was subbed out with an injury to his lower leg,” Bull said.

“Scans have cleared Mac of any significant injury so we expect him to train fully this week and be available for selection against Carlton.”

Malcolm Rosas Jnr remains one week away from a return to play as he rehabilitates his hamstring injury.

Meanwhile running defender Lachie Weller is progressing in his ACL recovery and is expected to be available in eight weeks.
