StreetSmarts SUNS Academy graduate Lachie Gulbin will become the club’s fourth debutant of 2025 this Friday night in Adelaide.
Gulbin was told in a team meeting on Wednesday morning that he will be included in Damien Hardwick’s side for Friday night’s blockbuster clash against Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.
The versatile forward, who is a Burleigh Bombers junior, joined the SUNS as an Academy pre-selection in last year’s AFL Rookie Draft and has played 15 VFL games for club this season.
“Lachie has impressed right throughout his first season at the club and we couldn’t be more thrilled for him to have earned his opportunity to debut,” GC SUNS General Manager of Football Performance Wayne Campbell said.
“It’s fantastic to have yet another graduate of our StreetSmarts SUNS Academy run out at AFL level for the club.”
The 19-year-old becomes the club’s fourth debutant of the season, and second graduate from the StreetSmarts SUNS Academy to play his first AFL game, alongside fellow Burleigh junior Leo Lombard.
The SUNS’ final team will be named at 6:20pm Thursday.
