The Gold Coast SUNS can report a strong bill of health heading into the AFLW season opener this Saturday, 15 August at People First Stadium.

StreetSmarts SUNS Academy product Darcie Davies is available for selection after missing the final pre-season hit-out against the Lions, while Vice-Captain Maddy Brancatisano has taken another step forward in her recovery, on track to return in the short-term.

SUNS utility Elise Barwick will also be eyeing a return in the near future after undergoing a small operation.

“Elise recently underwent a minor clean-up procedure on her knee and is recovering well,” Gold Coast SUNS AFLW Physiotherapist Angela Flack said.

"She has progressed through the early stages of rehab and will now focus on preparing herself to be available in the coming rounds.”
