SUNS defender Charlotte Wilson will be sidelined for several weeks with a foot injury.
The 25-year-old missed the Round 1 defeat against the Bulldogs and will remain unavailable for selection in the long term.
“Charlotte reported pain after a training session last week and further assessment revealed that she has suffered a stress fracture in her foot,” GC SUNS AFLW Physiotherapist Angela Flack said.
“We’ll now work through a rehabilitation plan with Charlotte, but she will be unavailable for selection for a number of weeks.”
In positive news, co vice-captain Maddy Brancatisano will be a test to play her first game of the season on Saturday against the Eagles after recovering from a syndesmosis injury suffered during pre-season.
Elise Barwick also continues to recover well after undergoing a minor operation on her knee in recent weeks. The 27-year-old missed the entirety of last season with an ACL injury, but will be eyeing a return to availability in the coming weeks.
