Kate Surman has won the Player of the QW Winter Series Award at the 2019 Club Champion.

Surman was a revelation for the SUNS across the three-game series, showing her wares as an inside midfielder.

While small in stature, Surman had no hesitation in putting her head over the football and impressed with her ball-winning abilities.

Originally from Ballarat, the 27-year-old lives on the Sunshine Coast and travelled over four hours each day to attend training sessions and games.

She developed her skills further when she was a member of the SUNS’ Summer Academy over the last Christmas period.

Off the back of her strong form in the QW Winter Series, Surman signed a contract last month to join the SUNS for 2020.
