SUNS Academy captain Connor Budarick has capped off an outstanding Under 18 carnival by being named in the 2019 NAB AFL Under 18 All Australian team.

Budarick was one of three Allies selected in the team, named in the back pocket while his teammates Tom Green (GWS Academy) and Mitch O’Neill (Tasmania) were named in the midfield.

The 18-year-old played predominately as a rebounding defender throughout the tournament and impressed with his pressure around the ball.

He averaged 16 disposals, two marks and was a tackling machine with a standout 10 per game.

Budarick was also named the Hunter Harrison Medallist after being judged the best and fairest player in the NAB AFL Under 18 Academy Series.

Western Australia took out the title as Under 18 Champions and had six players selected in the All Australian side.

Vic Country had the most representatives with seven, followed by WA then South Australia (four), Allies (three) and Vic Metro (three).

WA figurehead Peter Sumich was named All Australian coach while Deven Robertson, also WA, was named captain.

This year there was no bottom-aged players that made the line-up.
