Two SUNS have polled AFL Coaches’ Association votes for the Round 19 match against Essendon.

Co-captain Jarrod Witts and vice-captain Touk Miller led from the front, and were both equally voted the second-best players on the ground by the coaches with seven votes apiece.

Witts monstered the Bombers in the ruck, finishing with 60 hitouts, 19 of those to advantage.

He also managed seven clearances from his 19 disposals and four marks.

Meanwhile Miller had one of his best games for the season with 32 disposals in the midfield.

Impressively, 22 of his 32 touches were contested.

The 23-year-old also had four marks and four tackles to go with his six clearances and a goal to top it off. 

Essendon’s Jake Stringer received the most votes for the match with nine, while Shaun McKernan (four) and Dylan Shiel (three) were the other Bombers recognised.

Every round, the AFL coaches vote for the best players from their game. The coaches vote for five players, giving them a mark from 1-5. The maximum a player can score is 10 (with five votes from both coaches).
