Three Gold Coast players have received coaches’ votes from the Round 1 match against GWS. 

Leadership group member Jamie Stanton received six votes for her 15-disposal, five tackle game in the wet.

She was supported by Jacqui Yorston in the midfield, who racked up 12 tackles and 13 disposals to earn herself four votes.

Sam Virgo was the final SUN to receive votes, polling two for her efforts rebounding out of defence.

For GWS, Alyce Parker received the most votes afield with seven, followed by Alicia Eva (six), Rebecca Privitelli (three) and Jessica Dal Pos (two).

The AFL Coaches Association AFLW Champion Player of the Year is an award voted by the AFLW senior coaches on a 5,4,3,2,1 basis after each game, acknowledging outstanding effort to an individual player in a season.
