The Gold Coast SUNS have had two players represented in the AFLW Team of the Year.

Womens.afl has named a Team of the Week for every round of the NAB AFLW home and away season, with players’ nominations deciding who made up the Team of the Year.

In the backline, Jade Pregelj was named for Gold Coast after an outstanding debut season at the highest level.

Pregelj was an absolute force in the SUNS backline all year and finished the season ranked number one in the league in intercept possessions and tied third overall in rebound 50’s.

At the opposite end of the ground, Kalinda Howarth has been named in the Team of the Year forward line.

Howarth was one of the revelations of the season, finishing tied-third in the league’s goalkicking.
