Noah Anderson has been named as the Round 7 NAB AFL Rising Star nominee after his performance against Sydney on Saturday afternoon.

Anderson has been one of the SUNS most consistent performers so far in 2020 after being selected with pick 2 in the 2019 NAB AFL Draft.

The 19-year-old’s NAB AFL Rising Star nomination incredibly becomes the Gold Coast’s fourth for the year after young guns Matt Rowell (Round Two), Connor Budarick (Round Three) and Izak Rankine (Round 6) were also nominated.

Since making his debut in Round 1, the midfielder has worked tirelessly across the ground, with Saturday afternoon’s game proving to be his breakout performance.

Anderson had 15 disposals and three tackles and was in the middle of everything with a number of key moments throughout the game.

Most impressive on the night may have been his effort in kicking his second career goal with a gut busting run forward to finish a great piece of end to end football from the SUNS.

A NAB AFL Rising Star nominee will be named following each round of football in the 2020 Toyota AFL Premiership season.

Following each round of the Home and Away season, a panel of judges select a NAB AFL Rising Star nominee. At the completion of the season, one of these nominees will be chosen as the 2020 NAB AFL Rising Star.

The 2020 NAB AFL Rising Star winner will be awarded the Ron Evans Medal, along with $20,000 from NAB and with a dedicated private banker.

NAB continues to support footballers by recognising the junior clubs that helped foster the early careers of the nominated players.

Noah Anderson’s junior club Hawthorn Citizens in Victoria will receive a NAB Club Recognition Award valued at $2500, comprising financial and practical resources, as a result of his Round Seven nomination.

Since supporting the NAB AFL Rising Stars Program, NAB has donated over $900,000 worth of resources to junior football clubs through this initiative.
