Gary Ablett today trained with the team and looks certain to play against Richmond in Cairns on Saturday.

The GC SUNS skipper completed the majority of the session and appears set to be available for selection.

Ablett warmed up with his teammates on the GC SUNS training field before the team hit Metricon Stadium for the main session.

Ablett trained without strapping on his knee and moved well throughout the session, leaving the media throng watching training under no doubts that he will play against the Tigers.

The GC SUNS will name their team for the first ever match for premiership points in Cairns on Thursday afternoon.

Speaking prior to the session, GC SUNS coach, Guy McKenna, said Ablett would be selected in the side, but would have to get through Friday’s training session before being given the all clear to play.
