Townsville’s world-class Tony Ireland Stadium was a sea of tumbling footballs, team colours and smiling faces at a Gold Coast Football Club Superclinic yesterday afternoon.

The clinic, one of several GCFC regional promotional events taking place in the lead up to the club’s game against Bendigo Bombers in Cairns on Saturday, was attended by as many as 400 local junior footballers, some of whom had travelled hundreds of kilometres to take part.

High profile GCFC recruit Karmichael Hunt was there to meet and greet participants and offer a few words of advice. Afterwards he patiently signed hundreds of autographs and posed for photographs.

Later, a cluster of talented 14 to 18 year old juniors from Townsville and Mackay enjoyed an hour-long training session led by Gold Coast Football Academy Manager, Andrew Johnson.
