The Gold Coast SUNS will play the Brisbane Lions in QClash21 as part of a re-scheduled Round 19 fixture announced by the AFL on Monday afternoon.

The SUNS will head up the M1 to take on the Lions at the Gabba with a new centre bounce of 3:10pm on Saturday July 24.

Coming off a strong performance against premiership contenders the Western Bulldogs, the SUNS team will be looking to continue a recent run of strong performances against top eight sides when they take on their Queensland rivals.

AFL Executive General Manager Clubs and Broadcasting Travis Auld said the league would continue to make decisions that ensure the season continued to progress.

“We will continue to make changes that best manage the current environment, progresses our season and protects the health and safety of those in our game and the wider community,” Mr Auld said.

“While the Round in which some matches will be played has changed, our intention remains to complete the home-and-away season with the matchups as originally scheduled.

“The pandemic will continue to challenge us over the coming weeks and, as an industry, we will band together and remain adaptable as we navigate those challenges.

SUNS Members and Fans will be encouraged to make the trip up the highway and support their side, further ticketing information below.

With five rounds remaining, the ever-changing landscape throughout the country has led to the AFL needing to be flexible with its fixture on a weekly basis and that will continue in coming weeks.
