Reliable defender Daisy D’Arcy has claimed the 2022 SUNS AFLW Players’ Player award, presented by Mackay Regional Council, for the second successive year.
The Players’ Player award is decided by the players’ votes after each game during the regular season, and recognises the footballer who best lives and demonstrates the team values on the field.
D’Arcy played all 10 matches for the SUNS this season, taking her game to another level after such an impressive debut season in 2021.
The 19-year-old was regularly given the task of containing the opposition’s most dangerous small forward and rarely had her colours lowered in 2022.
D’Arcy’s ferocity at the contest and composure in defence sees her become a worthy two-time winner of the award.
Since making her debut in Round 1, 2021, D’Arcy has not missed a game for the Gold Coast SUNS and continues to show improvement in all areas of her game.
