SUNS AFLW star Jamie Stanton will once again step back over the white line and into the coaches box for this year’s AFL Queensland Representative match.

For the second year running, Stanton has been appointed as South Queensland Women’s Head Coach for the annual clash against North Queensland, this year to be held in Cairns on June 24.

Stanton took charge of the SQ team in 2022 for the first time and is excited about the opportunity.

“It’s a really exciting opportunity to coach the South Queensland side again this season,” Stanton said.

“I’m looking forward to continuing developing as a coach, building on the foundations in place from last year, and most importantly, get the win over North Queensland.”

South Queensland will be looking to return serve from last year’s clash which North Queensland won by 17 points at Southport.

“This year is a great opportunity for community club players to be coached by Head Coach Jamie Stanton and her experienced coaching line up,” South Queensland Women’s ambassador Kate Guy said.

“Stanton is returning for her second year as South Queensland Head Coach and brings a wealth of knowledge to the team.

“This is an exciting time for players to gain more experience and show off their talent to the broader community.”

Further match details including squad and team lists will be announced over the coming weeks.
