Qscan Injury Update: Elimination Final
The Gold Coast SUNS will head into Saturday’s Elimination Final against Fremantle with no fresh injury concerns in this week’s Qscan Injury Update.
The SUNS escaped unscathed from the mid-week Round 24 battle against Essendon last week with all eyes squarely on Saturday night’s historic final at Optus Stadium.
Young midfielder Will Graham continues his rehabilitation from a hamstring complaint suffered in the VFL and would look to be available for selection should the SUNS progress beyond Finals Week 1, as will Sam Clohesy (ankle) who is expected to train fully next week.
The SUNS have four players – Charlie Ballard, Elliott Himmelberg, Zak Evans and Max Knobel – who will all be sidelined for the remainder of the season, but have a relatively clean bill of health ahead of the weekend’s trip to Perth.

Qscan Injury Update: Round 4
The Gold Coast SUNS can provide a Qscan Injury Update on several players, following the Round 3 clash in Adelaide.
Charlotte Wilson is expected to miss several weeks after sustaining a lower leg injury early in the first quarter.
“Scans have confirmed that Charlotte has unfortunately suffered a fractured fibula, which will see her miss the next 4-6 weeks of the season,” GC SUNS AFLW Physiotherapist Jasmine Herlihy advised.
Charlie Rowbottom battled through a shoulder complaint on Saturday night. Subsequent scans revealed the 22-year-old suffered an AC joint injury. An update on her availability will be provided later in the week.
Meara Girvan has also entered concussion protocols following her collision with Yartapuulti’s Matilda Scholz and will be unavailable for Round 4.
"Our highest priority is supporting Charlotte, Meara and Charlie through the recovery process. While it’s disappointing to lose three in one hit, we are confident our team is in a strong position to take on the Giants,” GC SUNS Head of Women’s Football Fiona Sessarago said.
Katie Lynch was involved in a minor incident in a scrimmage match over the weekend. She is awaiting scans on her left ankle to determine her availability for the upcoming round.
In lighter news, experienced SUN Claudia Whitfort is probable to face the Giants this Saturday.
Whitfort was a late exclusion to Rhyce Shaw’s Round 3 side following a calf complaint.
“Claudia pulled up sore last week and has shown improvement in the days since,” Herlihy said.
“We will continue to monitor how her calf responds in the coming days before determining her availability for Saturday’s match against the Giants."
